Harlem Rennaisance #1

The Harlem Rennaisance transformed African Americans from the "Old Negro" to the "New Negro" in the 1920's. Many more African Americans were educated and stood up for themselves than times before. Part of the reason this transformation happened was because of a rise in creative black writers, called by Charles Spurgeon Johnson to gather in New York to fight racism with their words.
